Teacher Notes (not visible to students)

Repeated reading builds fluency, oral language, and reading comprehension. Students can practice reading the same passage multiple times to increase overall reading ability. Suggested scaffolds for ELLs: -Assign appropriate texts based on independent reading and English proficiency levels -Pre-teach vocabulary and background knowledge -Include a recording of you reading the passage as an example, so students can refer to it if they get stuck. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RF.3-5.4 Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension.
