Hello, Mathematician! There is a Zoo being built in your town! Because of your rockin’ math skills, you have been chosen to create a blueprint for the zoo! The person who is able to create a blueprint that includes the most animals/exhibits possible while following all the guidelines, will be chosen as a member of the zoo’s design team! Use the checklist and guidelines in the Seesaw assignment to create a blueprint for your zoo! Your goal: Use the blueprint space to create a zoo that holds the most exhibits/animals possible, while following all the guidelines! When you are ready to start this assignment, click the add response button. First, read through the directions on each page carefully, to give yourself an overview of your task! Use the text or draw tool to complete each page. Again, remember to read the directions carefully! *As a reminder, you must do the Zoo planning sheet first* Feel free to be as creative as you would like while sketching the blueprint of your zoo! When you have finished creating your zoo planning sheet and sketching your blueprint, then complete the area and perimeter page. Don't forget your labels! *OPTIONAL* Use the microphone to record a jingle (which is a slogan, something catchy) for your zoo to play as an advertisement on the radio. When you have finished all the pages and shown your best work, click the green check to submit!
There are two versions of this assignment. In this one, each square is equal to one foot. There is another assignment with the same name, but a * on the end. That one is a bit more challenging, since every square is equal to three feet. I have both floating around my classroom, assigning one or the other based on the students skill level. Feel free to do the same in your classroom!
