1. Review the key words and UNRAVEL strategy charts before solving the word problems.
2. Annotate each word problem using the UNRAVEL strategy.
3. Use the

4. Choose one problem that you solved. Use the 
to explain how you solved it.

Students need structure to help them solve word problems. The UNRAVEL strategy is a great strategy to help students follow a routine when analyzing word problems. Applying this strategy will help students think about what the problem is asking them to find, which strategy should be used to solve the problem and evaluate their answer choices for reasonableness.
