Listen to an example of some Traditional Irish Music being played on the attached video. This is an example of a usual Trad Music Session. This one includes an Irish dancer. Trad Sessions are often held in public places and are usually very casual. The musicians can “jam” together on selections of well known jigs, reels, hot pipes, polkas, ballads and many more styles of Irish music. Then look at the template to learn a little about each of the main instruments in traditional Irish music, or some of us like to call it, “Trad”.
