Instructions for Pupils

Please have a look at the slides about the tone. Once you have looked through some examples. Read the story. As you read, write down 5 words that you don’t know the meaning of in the left-hand column of your Investigation Chart. Afterwards, reread and write down, in the middle column, words or phrases that helped you understand the meaning. In the right-hand column, write down a definition or synonym for the word. Write a silly sentence for 3 vocabulary words that you learned today! Make sure that you give clues or context in your sentences so that the reader can understand the meaning of the word. When you are done, trade with a partner and have them circle the words in your sentence that helped them figure out what the word meant! Once you have completed your work. select the check button for it to be looked at.
