Instructions for Pupils
Read the words on the list. Sound them out slowly. The phoneme (sound) for this book is /ow/ (as in how), the grapheme is: ou. Then record yourself saying each word, segmenting into the individual sounds and then blending the word together. Highlight the grapheme that makes the /ow/ sound in each word. This word list activity has been created to accompany the Sunshine Decodable series of books. This book is from set 6 and is book 59 - Bounding with Bounder. It should be assigned when the book is first read with the students to help them learn the focus sounds and new words.
