Skip Counting with Bundles

Grades: 2nd Grade
Subjects: Math
Standards: Use concrete and pictorial models to compose and decompose numbers up to 1,200 in more than one way as a sum of so many thousands, hundreds, tens, and ones. (Math.2.2(A))

Student Instructions

Begin by building the starting number in the green box using the bundles. Then think about which bundles you could add on to get to the next benchmark number. For example, if starting at 47, you would want to add 3 ones to get to 50. Then you could add bundles of 10 to count by tens until you get to 100. Lastly, you would add 2 more bundles of 10 to get to the ending number of 120. As you add more bundles, draw and label using the pencil and pen to show how you are skip counting.
