Holy Week - Easter Music Composition

Grades: 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 4th Grade
Subjects: Music

Student Instructions

In the GarageBand app I want you to create a music track that you feel tells the Easter story. As a revision I’d like you to click on the link below and watch this LEGO animated depiction of the Easter lesson. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-M8Yesnt1V8 Think about how the music changes and reaches a climax but resolves at the end. This is what you will be re-creating soon. The requirements are as follows: You may use the orchestra with a mix of ensembles and soloists. I would like to hear at least 4 different instruments. From a minimum of three instrument families. You must have a change in mood in your music according to the Easter Story. Think of the journey from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. The sorrow and joy of the Passion must be heard. How will you create that mood and effect? Make sure to listen back and edit and produce the best tract that fits the criteria. Submit the track as a “song” file to your seesaw folder with the caption being the name of your Easter track.
