February is Black History Month! First watch the first half of the video about Alma Thomas, and learn about her life as a teacher and an artist. The second half of the video show you how to create your own art in the style of Alma Thomas to honor her work. You can use paint, but there are other ways to create your artwork. You can cut or tear small pieces of paper and glue them in your pattern on the paper. You can use markers or dot markers to create your pattern. OR- you can click Add Response and use the shapes to make a pattern using your computer/tablet. However you choose to make your art- make sure you share your response so we can see your wonderful art!
