Algebra: Write Variable Expressions

Grades: 6th Grade, 5th Grade, 4th Grade
Subjects: Math

Student Instructions

Today you will learn all about writing variable expressions. Remember, variables are letters that represent unknown numbers in an equation. For example, 10 - d (subtract d from 10) or g + 8 (increase g by 8) are examples of expressions. Write expressions using variables in this activity. Note: You do not need to solve the expressions, as the variable amount is not given. 1. Click on add to begin your assignment. 2. Review page 1. 3. On page 2, look at the difference between expressions and equations. Using the mic tool, record your response about what you noticed. 4. Write an expression on pages 3-7. Remember, you don't have to solve the expression, you only have to create an expression for the rule given. 5. Turn in using the check tool. Nice work, Scholar!
