Instructions for Pupils

Students and Parents, Here is some information from Adriene about this activity: "Here is a short mindful movement break that offers a fun set of movements and poses that can improve focus, increase flexibility, boost energy, balance your mood, increase coordination, counter screen fatigue, and decrease anxiety or stress. Take ten minutes to shake it out, get your heart rate going, stretch, and find your balance. No materials required, just a body and your breath. You can set yourself up for success by focusing on breathing and relaxing. Meditation is one way to do this." Assignment Directions- 1. Choose a space that supports your focus and success. 2. You can choose to be alone, or with others! 3. Open and follow the video, "Yoga PE - Body" and do some movement with Adriene and Benji. 4. Notice how you are thinking and feeling, which were your favorite parts? 5. Share a picture (or pictures) of you on the second page! Note- Feel free to add a text box or drawing about how it made you feel. Enjoy!

Hello Colleagues- The Yoga with Adriene YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/yogawithadriene/featured) has been a long time favorite of mine. I created and shared an activity in 2019 with her Classroom Meditation video, https://youtu.be/vYQy8-7Ut1E. I am so excited that Adriene has just put out three YOGA PE videos for young learners! This activity features Yoga PE- BODY. After this one, I plan to create an activities for the next two soon, MIND and HEART. I am hoping she will continue to create for young folks! For us teachers, highly recommend one of her 30-day Yoga series. Often I check out the playlist for short videos and here is one called Yoga at Your Desk https://youtu.be/tAUf7aajBWE. Enjoy and take care of yourself, Kristin
