Student Instructions

Ciao ragazzi! Following on from last week's lesson today we will look at where people come from around the world and what nationality they would be. In order to do this in Italian we must use articulated prepositions! We need to use the article and the preposition together when we say which country we come from. To do this we add "da" (from) before the article. We also use "Vengo" ( I come) to begin our sentence. For example: "Vengo dall'Australia" (I come from Australia) Here are the articulated prepositions we will use for this activity: da + il = dal (male) da + la = dalla (female) da + l' = dall' (male/female) da + gli = dagli (male plural) Have a go at this activity using the articulated prepositions to have the characters say which country they come from. Then choose from the nationalities box to write about their nationality. Remember to use the correct adjective for males and females! Example: "Sono Australiano" for a boy or "Sono Australiana" for a girl.
